Northbound

The northbound geese, in early spring,
Faintly,to my ear do bring,
Cries of wild anticipation
And I share in their elation!
I watch until they're lost from view,
Wishing I were going too.
North, to where the tundra lies
Under brooding, Arctic skies.
North, to where a seething sea,
Sings a savage symphony.
North and north again, to where,
Prowls the fearsome polar bear.
I wonder what it's like to be
One speck of lone humanity
In a world that's wild and free?

Good poetry Betty.  I always enjoy your nature posts.  However I don't want to go North.  I'm too anxious for spring. I worked in my flower beds all day today and this evening I am so stiff I can hardly move.  But happy.  love, Joyce

Dear Joyce:  Good that you could work outside today. When you've spent a day doing that, you don't mind a few sore muscles!  It's still too early here, but I see my daffodils are about ready to bloom so that's encouraging!

Love

"Faintly,to my ear do being,"

did you mean bring?.. lovely write

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost
