Round The Tree Until I Melt

too much clothes on too much skin,
too much house to keep them in,

too much head and too much ache,
too much too many nights awake,

too much phones and too much calls,
too much eyes within the walls,

too much wine and too much toasting,
too much steak and hot dogs roasting,

too much felt and too much feeling,
too much friendly buzzards wheeling,

too much true and too much fickle,
too much ice and too much sickle,

too much Walden, too much city,
too much dog and too much kitty,

too much first and too much last,
too much coming, too much past,

too much griping, too much gripping,
too much buttons, too much zipping,

too much work and too much fun,
too much lunches on the run,

I’m Sambo’s tiger; on I pelt,
round the tree until I melt.

Yet not too much Ed! Fun read. Thanks for that and some memories.

I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

too much felt and too much feeling,
too much friendly buzzards wheeling,

If there's anyone who can't relate to this... I envy them their uncomplicated life! *S*

This is wonderful! *S* Your rhyme has one thing in common with your free verse... it's flawless. *S*

Excellent work!
