I've been bound in this prison
left here alone to be tourtured
by my own mind and guilt
just me and the evils and deamons of my past
each memory comes with it's own deamon
each deamon brings with it a new sense of remorse
the chains the past few years
have tightened their grip to keep me here
I long to be free from constraint
to feel the warm sunlight on my face
and to not be ashamed of myself
for all of the things that I have done
so let my deamons come to me
let me fight back and face them
for when I face them I will defeat them
the chains that have kept me bound will break
and then I will finally be free again

I don't know how it can be such a crowded prison, and yet hold every one of us in solitary confinement....yet somehow it does.

But paroles do come, eventually....and pardons.

SP~
If I could have said anything more touching about this piece ...
I would have done so ... however, Ed/Ratleader did it for me,
and so it is said~

And, Ed ? .... that is a beautiful reply~

Thank you to both of you. It is only recently that I am learning to deal with the guilt that I feel over things in my past. So that is where some of my poetry has been coming from lately. I know that people have been here and have made it through, so hopefully I can be next.

Heart felt desire in these sad words.  Keep the door open to that sunshine!
