You that I love,
You that I follow, the light behind the door

When you've been away too long
The light steps in the puddles
Shatter as a mirror and open in the night

The clocks refuse to strike as
The sand marches onward toward the sea
Taking your footsteps with the tide

The weary worry of this undone song unsung so long
So loud inside my head
At last words as imperfect as the days

I move towards the shore and let the flood run free
A tempestual cadence, a hope unleashed
Where I, a tide, stand against the sea

-For Kristin, an early be my valentine
