Herringbone Sky

The sky is just so strange today.
From east to west, in neat array,
White strips of cloud, laid row on row,
Forever onward seem to go.
I can't recall a time when I
Have seen such patterns in the sky!

Such perfect symmetry is rare.
Who scattered herringbones up there?
Did angels tumble our of bed,
To lay this pattern overhead?
Or does the explanation lie
In winds that tour across the sky,
Pre-dicing clouds, with space between,
Defying anything we've seen!

This is so pretty Trillium.  I noticed our sky today.  It was very similar and I knew there was poem there.  Love, Joyce

Indeed a beautiful sight. You have imprinted the image in my mind with you clever description. A beautiful poem on a subject that I too indulge my poetic spirit. Thank you for making my day with this beauty.
