Nomad

I am doomed forevermore
To roam the earth, from shore to shore.
From peak to peak and every sea
Has felt the heart and soul of me.
I can be helpful, it is true,
But I am also lethal too!

In spring I'm usually benign.
Fragrant flower scents are mine
To spread across the countryside,
Through open doors, where folks abide.
In summer months, I cool the air
And dissipate heat gathered there.

It's autumn that brings me delight,
When blowing leaves from left to right
And winter will unleash my power,
Bringing storms that make men cower.
I beat the sea to froth and foam
And threaten boats that dare to roam.

A force as monsterous as I
Is uncontrollable and high
Above the earth, I flow in streams,
Where no one hears my roars and screams!
But when I'm quiet, I can be
A friend to all humanity!

I am the wind that wanders space.
I have no home, I have no face.
I have no master and no name,
But people know me, just the same!

Dear Joyce:  Glad you liked this. I have always liked the wind, as long as it wasn't gale force!

Dear Marge:  Thank you so much! I like the wind too, until it starts blowing things away, like boats and cars, etc.

Dear Betty Lou

The wind sure can be a friend or a foe!  This poem of yours just 'blows me away'!  Eh! Eh!

Love Isobel xo

Dear Isobel:  We certainly have had some high winds lately, but the gentle breezes are always welcome!  Thanks for checking in!

Love
Betty Lou
