it came in the mail
just in time for my birthday
a box from him to me
filled with many treasures

things i thought
were forever lost
and things that only he could know
would bring me so much pleasure

sitting, looking at these things
you know i cannot lie
just want to thank him for what it brings
a tear escaped from blue blue eyes

a tear for what was lost
a tear for such pain
a tear for hope and joy
a tear for love remains
a kindness in our hearts
with proof of sent treasure box

every once in a while, I open my treasure drawer, and bask in the memories...thanks for sharing..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I really like this. I too have a treasure box of sorts. My husband came home one day with this pretty flowered can and it had a bow on it and he called it a God Can. When I opened it, it was empty and he said that for anything I felt I couldn't do or anything I felt I needed and I would say "I Can't" just write it on a piece of paper and put it in my "God Can". That has been my treasure box ever since. Whenever I can't, God Can.
I love treasure boxes and I hope yours was special as the poem you wrote about it.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance.

thanks all...i too am glad that he sent the box...some of the treasures were mine but some of them were sent from his heart as well. funny how time has taken the sting of anger away and the little things have become treasures.

Annie:  It's funny how much importance we atttach to little treasures!  I suppose it's not so much the items themselves, but the memories that go with them.

oh yes italy angel it brought me much joy, and much love to cherish even tho circumstance keeps the love going apart.
funny after the anger pain and hurt are finall layed to rest it is alright to love each other again if only thru an act of kindness
