Long Dry Spell

The morning sky was brilliant blue.
No hint of storm clouds passing through.
But by the time I looked again,
The window panes were streaked with rain.
I opened up the door to smell
The ending of our long, dry spell.
The thirsty earth absorbed it all
And thinking back, I can't recall
Another year we've waited for
The sky to open up and pour
The way we have this year and so,
Spring flowers have a chance to grow!

Dear Joyce:

It's the driest period on record for this time of year. We are glad to be getting a little rain. Thanks.

Love
Betty Lou
