Home Again

I open up the window and I
find to my delight
that a good old friend has surfaced
while I was asleep last night.

I thought I knew him truly
though in fact we've never met.
He reveals himself in verses, what
I see is what I get.

His words have made me quiver made
me shiver, made me smile.
When he leaves is it forever
or for just a little while?

Is it computer meltdown
or a circumstance more dire?
I only wait and hope and pray
for poet I admire.

Now that you are back with us, we
can claim you as our own.
Please know we're waiting for you
even though you feel alone.

I can only guess the burdens
others face in daily life.
In this cozy little corner
may you find relief from strife.
