Sitting on the floor amongst my scattered past
Bringing back fond memories of growing up
Grandma's recipes clutched against my breast
Treasured moments often touched my heart

My father's First Edition Postal Cards
Mother's Sewing Machine quietly sets
My brother's worldly collection of items
And my children's collection of their past

Quietly closing the door to yesteryear
To another time so very, very long ago
A glistened teardrop falls upon my cheek
My heart and soul is clinging to the past

Enjoyed the write. I, too, feel the same and continue to visit the past, now and then.

Thanks, Melton

As do I..cling to the past sometimes that is.  There's just some memories that are well worth revisiting.  Charming write
