The Eclipse

The last time that I watched it,
I was seeing it with you;
The mysterious phenomena
So old and yet so new.

We all caught your excitement
Gazing at the orange ball.
It is not the same without you,
It's not the same at all.

Are you watching it from heaven?
Are the cherubs there with you?
Are they gathering around you
The way we used to do?

I watch as the dark shadows
Devour the soft moonlight.
I can't seem to find the magic
Without my son tonight.

Dear Joyce:

I'm sorry the eclipse brought you sad memories!  We couldn't see it at all. Too many high hills and trees.

Love

Wow... I've never lost someone (thank God), especially no one as close as you and your son...but, maybe the sun, moon and Earth weren't the only heavenly bodies involved in the eclipse?
