One Wild Lady

St. Helens, volatile lady
Is letting off some steam.
She is seething now with anger;
We know not to what extreme.

I remember her eruption in
The year of nineteen-eighty.
That passionate outburst proved her
A quite hot-headed lady.

She will not tell what ticked her off.
She gets her satisfaction
Not from talk or boastfulness;
She articulates with action.

So take your puny instruments
And foolish speculations.
She well may have surprise in store
Beyond all expectations.

Don't tramp on her abundant skirts;
That tends to irritate her.
This lady's incensed enough now,
You're foolish if you bait her.

She's given you fair warning
And if you take her dare
You can't run far enough to get
Her ash out of your hair.

Dear Joyce:

Clever poem and you are much too close to St. Helens!!  I am thankful we are some 300 miles away.  No ash here yet, but wait until the wind changes direction!

Love

Thanks Betty.  I am really far enough away that I would probably only get ash too.  Now if Mount Baker should blow we would probably flood here.  That I hope never happens.  Joyce

Joyce~
This brings it into closer perspective~

LOL ... there have been times when I've 'blown my top' and NEVER gotten this much attention~

It's quite the event going on~

Dear Joyce

You have a sense of humour even in the face of danger.  Marge too had that same sense of humour with all of those hurricanes that came her way.

I do not know how close you are to Mt. St. Helens, but by what Betty Lou has said, it sounds like you are quite close.

The whole world is watching and waiting.  She is not one to be reckoned with so take care.

I did like your poem.

Cute. And she apparently she means it. But, when?

Thanks,  Melton
