Where Did She Go?

Where did she go, the youthful me,
With future tantalizingly
Awaiting in the wings
And made of wondrous things?

Her fate so gloriously concealed,
Its wonders yet to be revealed,
Anticipated eagerly;
Disclosed in stages, meagerly.

Love given, snatched too soon away,
A precious son who could not stay
To cheer declining years;
Abiding joy, unending tears.

Gone with the years, the youth and zest
Of she who yet must past the test
Of life, when lived unsparingly
In joy and sorrow, daringly.

God in his wisdom sheltered her
From knowledge of that which would occur
On a full life's unopened pages.
As woman has throughout the ages

Without a doubt or hesitate,
She goes headlong to meet her fate.

I like the positive thought. And her fate is bringing joy to so many through her poetry.

Thank you,  Melton

Dear Joyce,

Dear Joyce:

This is so true!  God is very kind, to screen us from knowledge of the future. If we knew what we would go through in life, I wonder how we could face it, especially when we are young.  As you grow older and have survived numerous traumatic events,
you do grow stronger.

It's a lovely poem!

Love
