Valley of Enchantment

In the distance, a river flows
down a gently sloping valley,
where abundant wildflowers
gather dew in the early morning hours.
A cool breeze whispers it's music
as blades of grass sway to its tune.
A cerulean sky, devoid of billowy clouds,
creates a vivid picture of the heavens
in all its wonderous glory.
In the stillness of this magical place,
a newborn fawn rests at its mother's side,
nursing sweet nectar as she gains her strength.
Nestled beneath an old oak tree,
are two of God's creations, totally free.
A land where no man has yet to invade,
an enchanting valley as far as the eye can see.

I could clearly see everything you described. Sounds like a wonderful place to be!

Thank you Jennifer and Joyce for your sweet comments. Sometimes I dream of an idealic place far from civilization, where the only sounds to be heard are those of nature.

Love,
Patricia

This is such a "rich" poem. The peace and serenity just pour out of it.
