Long ago it stood in an empty place,
imatating its surroundings carefully.
Locked away in the depths of decay,
I watch it melt to nothing.

Knows the past but hides it in a shadow,
the secrets must remain untold.
Otherwise pain will resurface,
and the memories will no longer be buried.

A porthole to another world
where I am looking back at me,
Wandering around in my imagination.
The shadow overtakes my soul.

Ran away from that empty place,
I was stuck in the depths of decay.
Now I'm hiding behind a veil of uncertainty,
and its shadow remains a mystery.

Sometimes the fear never seems to go away. Once in your heart it can surface and cause worry and doubts and uncertainty.

At times the "shadow overtakes the soul", especially if it's linked to an unhappy or sad past. To get past that shadow of uncertainty, a person needs to reach for the light; for even when it seems out of reach, it is certainly there.
