Mists of Gray

Through mists of gray
came gentle arms enfolding,
as long-held tears drift away.
The heart cannot forget
the tender sweetness of your smile,
the touch upon my lips
which for a moment whirled
within my breast.

In silence I weep,
for our meeting too swift,
leaving many things unsaid.
Was it only a dream?
Can two hearts love
from distant shores,
sharing a bond so profound?
This friendship like tall pines,
growing slowly
till it soars to the heavens.

Friendship like tall pines...I like that.
Can two hearts love from distant shores? I guess so, if you've got a good long distance plan. *S*

Thank you Barb for your lovely response! Most of the thoughts that come from within, seem to be better expressed in poetic form. The more I read other's poems, the more I am inspired to write. You all have such wonderful talents for writing, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this forum.
