I plucked the daisy.
If the feathers fall i might still have yellow-
butter to press my steps into.

It can't keep collapsing.

People make geometric shapes as they walk,
and see me in the glass.
I shall kiss, rip, smudge lipstick on that magazine cover.
and see me in the glass.

For my eyes are bludgeoning plastics, you smile,
I run.

And they collapse around me.

sorry for poem-post-crossing, i just thought afterwards, that the poem would be better suited in this forum...

Claire, what an imagination you have! Very cryptic yet visual, surreal.Sure would like to know the thoughts which led you to this writing.I always look for "The Different". You most certainly fed me a refreshing change from "The Norm".Sometimes those everyday words and phrases that are used in most writings...well,let's just say that things that are described with a unique perspective or phrasing hold my interest and, hopefully, make me think a bit.I can only take so much of "Roses are red...", and,"The moon glows bright.",until I yawn myself into a stupor.Still, there is much to be said for clarity,at least a slice.Never- the-less,I enjoyed your offering here.

Street Heart - firstly thank you very much. i rather enjoy everyday things, mundane words, there's a certain beauty to them. i think of virginia wolf especially and those modernists that make "normal" stuff sound so beautiful, "a match burning in a crocus" for example, had me in ecstasy for a couple of days...

and midnight blues, thank you too for your lovely remarks. my heart is positively glowing

Hi Claire,

What a unique imagination you have! I really enjoyed this.
