Too Soon For Flowers

I walked all through the woods today
And watched for flowers on my way.
I didn't find a single one.
Not even where the springtime sun
Had warmed the banks along the creek,
Were colored faces that I seek.
Is it too soon for flowers then?
I can remember past years when
The trilliums were everywhere
And violets also blossomed there.

It feels like spring is here to stay.
Why are the flowers hid away?
You'd think that some of them would be
So anxious to be out, like me,
They'd take a chance and venturing,
Would check to see what kind of spring,
Was waiting for them, but they stall.
Too soon for flowers, after all!

Lovely piece Betty Lou...
Winter does seem to be hanging on longer this year...
But soon...soon, all will be in glorious bloom.

Nancy:  I know many people are already enjoying spring flowers, but not here in northern Idaho!  I'm trying to be patient!

Hello Betty Lou

I could almost smell those beautiful violets!  It is Autumn here in Melbourne which is probably my favourite season.

Take care.........Sue

Passionately Romantic:  Thanks.  We actually have had snow the last couple of nights.  Melts a lot during the day, but nevertheless, there is now snow on the ground.

Dear Betty Lou

This is lovely. I love flowers.  I know how they 'feel' though when winter is around.  I don't like 'coming out' while there's still a chill in the air either.

Love Isobel

Dear Isobel:  I have purple and white violets all over the lawn.  Too bad they will soon be mowed down.

Love
