The Word Slingers

The word slingers are comin’ to town
Bringin’ their verbs, an occasional noun.
They’re stoppin’ in at the corner pub
For a spot of tea and a plate of grub.

They’ll be ridin’ on steeds of white
Spoutin’ poetry day and night.
That’s Joyce and Barb and Betty Lou
With Marge shootin’ a camera, too.

You’ll know them by the hats they wear
The rhyme they write, the verse they share.
And something else that oft’ occurs-
Marge could be shootin’ at their spurs.
