To lose thee, even from tenderness of love,
is far greater than one could wish to gain,
for even in thy heart there is room to move,
and even a broken heart from thee is not in vain.

For it is far better to love thee and to lose,
than to go through life never knowing thee,
nor in love dwell with two bodies as one fuse;
and the knowledge of such virgin love and beauty.

As it is better to live in day and go through night,
than to ever live in unloving day without thee;
for the rose survives only because of the absence of light,
and llove may not endure without a hearts' plea.

So it is I'm glad, yes glad, that from love we depart,
for such cleanly of love am I so easily freed,
and once reliant on such love no longer is this heart;
that from love may your beating heart also cede!
