In Days of Old

There was a once upon a time
When fairy tales came true;
When horses talked and ogres walked,
The old forever new.

Lovely rainbows had and end with
A fabled pot of gold.
Knights dressed in shining armor and
Were handsome brave and bold.

Genies often granted wishes
As did the fairy queen.
It was summer in the winter time
And grass was ever green.

One might just glimpse a leprechaun
Or hear his elfish laughter.
The maiden married her prince and
Lived happily ever after.

Dear Joyce:  Cute poem! What would we do without imagination?
