Blind thy tearful eyes,
from beauty I doth lust,
for time doth pass and beauty dies,
and turns to dreadful dust!

Deafen thy longing ear,
of the nightingale's romantic tune,
for darkness thou doth fear,
as darkness comes to soon!

Displace thy tempting lips,
the sensual taste of kiss;
for time is but an eclipse,
and ends such romantic bliss!

Remove not thy love in thy heart,
for thou flowest too well,
and in it thy soul refused to part;
nor whisper of its farewell!
