Age Defiant

Dancing down memory lane-
Recalling tales about Dick and Jane
And storybook pets, Spot and Puff,
Ooops afraid, I’ve said enough.

You that are in my realm will know
I’m telling my age and letting it show.
I wear these years without shame.
Ok, folks, now what’s my name?

Dear Barb:  Very clever and unfortunately, we older people will find it too true! I am always walking into a room and wondering what I am doing there!

Dear Barb

I remember Dick and Jane.  I think the white dog's name was Nip?  Thank you for the memories.

It was a much gentler and less complicated world for Dick and Jane and Spot and all of the rest of us.  Love, Joyce

Thanks all.
The dog's name was "Nip?"
Another age-worthy slip?

Ok, don't throw tomatoes!
love, Barb

Barb~
Oh how I recall those little Dick and Jane stories ... (ummmm, surely someone must have read them TO me)
Yeppers ... and my mother saved books that she bought after the school quit using them and offered them for sale .... !!!
I now read them to Delaney !!!
And she seems quite fascinated by them ... as much so as all the new-fangled stories~

When my son, David, was interning as a teacher (third grade classroom) his senior year at Florida State University ... he called and asked if I could send some of the Dick and Jane books so he could share them with his students~
I did ... and he said they were a great teaching tool~

Thanks for this walk down memory lane~
