Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2004-03-14 10:21 AM

She borrows her song from the depths of the ocean, and
it echoes, stagnantly.
Unmoved, still dreaming of cypress poetry, her soul
bleeds quietly, and the humidity overcomes.

Why does humanity weep for their sins,
when sorrow expands in the palms of
unopened hands?

{like a prayer,
she moved against changing tides;
a silhouette broken
through multitudes.
she cried to whisper
in a language unknown by anyone
other than her fading entity.}

She redefines a color to ashes, deeper than gray,
and breathes them into tragedy.
Looking to a sky flooded by sunrisen swells,
she stirs her voice with a coffee spoon

understated iniquities burn heavily,
in half-hearted lamentations
as sounds form themselves into
statements of disconcerted peace..

"It hurts."

Who hears their own shadow, lest waters
gather restlessly at the feet of
tomorrow's unwavering hymn?

{it was unintentional,
how she had inscribed a name
for suffering.
verbosely mistaken ennui
no longer;
a desperation so raw
had flourished from within.
it was, is, shall always be..
a human's unquenchable need.}

She clings to her blessed misery, tasting what was faith
until it blended in between waves of the salted
unforgiving. It is bitter and refined, somewhat like
sandstone marring a tongue of velvet lines [in release],
weeping so very steadily. This is not fulfilment, not
complacency, nor a justified denial!

Bleeding on the shores, she sighs of the vast ago,
unweaving promises, defying morals, for the sake of
everything she has lost.

sanity suspends all subconscious
as her eyes watch fingers trace
this simple anguish into sand...

[insert my reqiuem here]
Was it really ever more than a paling funeral song?

and 'tis now earth's last immortal
finally remembers
how to live and
how to die
in a fatally wounded calm.

If I were to touch you, would you bleed a velvet river, running miracles through the sodden ground? --Moi
