If the night declared its decree;
upon a pedestal thou would lie,
as the emblem of night's gurantee,
and the affection of thine eye.

Her beauty would doth eclipse,
masking all that shines brightly-
from the moon's dying grips,
fades darkness held so tightly.

Time's tear doth only shows,
the jealousy in night skies,
as beauty brightly glows-
darkness slowly dies.

Her radiating beams does shun,
the celestial bodies in flight;
as her grace is the one,
to appease the ugly night.

And in the hearts of lovers,
she sheds compassionate light;
for unto the night day conquers,
and 'neath the breast lives the night!

Wonderful right to the end:

And in the hearts of lovers,
she sheds compassionate light;
for unto the night day conquers,
and 'neath the breast lives the night!

Loved it.  Thank you for sharing.  Your name says it all.

Love Isobel
