Exposed for all the world to ignore

My heart lay naked ,shivering and sore

Pain that reminded me of more to come

Fresh scars for others to graft upon

I shuddered within all my decisions

My steps glued with fearsome visions

Directionless within a maze of cement

Behind me lay footprints , all spent
I drank the rose wine without taste

Reached for the bottle with less haste

Watched the moon in bleached bone white

Strip with sickness the stars from my night
Chance perhaps or miracle in conception?

shook my awake to a renewed perception

You stumbled upon my wounds unaware

Knelt then cupped my heart with great care
You tenderly placed me within reach of the sun

To bathe in the warmth of our friendship begun

Patiently watching for fresh shoots turning green

New hope and courage where a only a void had been

Today I drink the sweet nectar, life’s wine

Begin to step out from shadow to shine

I took your hand, found once more my direction

Safe in your care and your gentle protection

I know you will shy from the truth of you

More than a friend,, believe me it's true

See no-one else took the time or the care

Without question your love was always there
Please my friend don't turn your face

the thanks I give you, accept with grace

for you held my hand and all joking apart

Forever you will hold a piece of my heart

This is a heart-felt piece; I enjoyed it, lifted my spirits. Thanks!
