Cupid prevailed,
gracing his sight,
his arrow sailed.

Upon the heart,
the arrow struck,
the blood did part,
my heart did buck.

And in that night,
my heart did beat,
gracing my sight,
love did defeat.

In silent air,
love overcame,
and love was declared,
to my dear dame.

And from this night,
from south to north,
love graced my sight,
and shall henceforth.
