Mrs. Dorsey

Mrs. Dorsey
Sat alone.
had no one to call her own.
Valentine’s came and went
And there was never one who sent
Her a flower or a card
A kiss of love or a regard.
Not a blush of red
Came her way
In a velvet rose
Or a mixed bouquet.
Mrs. Dorsey
Sat alone-
Had no one to call her own.

Barb:  I'm afraid there are a lot of "Mrs. Dorseys" in our world.  This is a poignant poem.

Sad little verse....but true for far too many. Chris

"At one glance
I love you
With a thousand hearts."

A good characterization of those with lonely hearts! Grover.

Thanks to all of you for reading.  I sent a card to a lady who has no family. She called 6 different times in the week to thank me.

Barb

Loneliness is a killer.  How we can change a persons life just by reaching out and caring.

A sad poem but so true.

Love Isobel

Now doesn't this just make you smile with realize of how important it is to pay-it-forward?

I go to the area nursing centers/retirement homes and not only read poetry to the residents ... but gather little tidbits of information about them and at the next gathering ... I read a poem I've written about one of them and they are quick to let me know that they recognize themselves in my poetry~

Gives ME more pleasure to see those smiling faces~

Thank you for sharing this special moment~

(big angel hugs) Oh Barbara, I still haven't had a Valentine yet so I can understand how it feels to some extent, though no woman should ever be alone and I send angel hugs out to all who need love! (sigh) I always go to the Catholic Community Center once in a while to talk and help out residents there, God Bless You, we all must reach out to the community, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barbara, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
