February 8th

Your birthday will be here too soon;
We've not celebrated it in years.
There'll be an ache instead of cake,
Not many smiles but lots of tears.

We could not know that year's birthday
Would be the last wild, happy one.
You had just five more months to live.
We partied as we'd always done.

My birthday comes in warm July;
I'm apt to cry on that day too.
My birthday in the year you died
Came on the day I buried you.

Very moving. Well written with great care with form, contrasts and imagery. Thanks for sharing what grief is. Grover.

Joyce,
I am assuming this to be the death of a husband.  From this poem, as from your others, you put much love in his life.  Each poem you write shows your love and compassion for others.
Love, Barb

my heart aches for you dear Joyce. may He ease your pain and give you peace.

Dear Joyce...How sad a day this must be for you. My first baby, Michelle, died at three months from severe birth defects. Her bithday is May 23rd. God in His wonderful healing Love, gave me my grandaughter, Molly Ann, born on my darling Michelle's birthday! Now that day has become pure joy! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Thanks everyone.  This was a long time ago but memories linger on.  My first husand, my children's father.  He died suddenly at 41   on the 4th of July and was buried on my birthday the 7th.  My second husband died on Thanksgiving day.  My son died on Feb. 22, Wash. birthday and my stepson died  in May and I got the word on Memorial Day.  So everything is just one big memory.  Love, Joyce

Hi Joyce ... I can feel the pain and sorrow jump right out of my screen.

A tender and loving write for someone who was very special in your life.

Huggles, Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Joyce, I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, dearest friend, I understand how difficult it is to have a loved one buried on your own special day! (big angel healing hugs) Stay strong, sweet friend, and rest assured knowing your husbands and loved ones will always be guiding you from the heavens above and celebrating your birthday every July with warmth and cheer, God Bless You, we're always here if you need a shoulder, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
