Frosty Morn

The fields lie whitened under frost.
The steaming lake's dark surface, lost
Beneath a cloud of swirling mist.
The tendrils rise and turn and twist.
It looks just like a witch's brew.
A winter dish for me and you!
The tamaracks on hills nearby,
Point golden branches at the sky
And as the sun warms up the air,
I hear bird voices, everywhere.

This is a lovely scene, Betty.  It is 50 degrees here today, we had heavy rain this morining, but now the sun is out and it is quite spring-like.  Joyce

I really loved this poem. I like the "playful" imagery. It's something that I try to incorporate into my work, but I always wind-up being to austere. *LOL*

Joyce:  Thank you!  It is much warmer where you are!  Barely made it to 29 degrees here today and we were in cold fog all day long.

BettyLou~
Despite the beauty of this penning ... the brrrrrrr came through~

It's only 68 degrees here right now ...(well, that's chilly to me) ... but the sun is warmly shining and it's promise is almost enough to keep me warm~

You are WONDERFUL !

Hi RON~
I love you~

Dear Sue:  Do you ever get frost in your part of Australia?  I rather doubt it. It's pretty, but...!
