(Hannah's birthday is January 4th, much too soon after Christmas and New Year's for a serious party, according to her mother. So we're all going to have to wait to celebrate it.)

Turning Three

I have heard it whispered around
Do you suppose it could be true,
That you, our dear little Hannah
Are no longer just two?

I don't rememember who told me,
Your dog Tulip or sweet Kitty?
I only know that it would be
An appallingly great pity,
If your birthday should slip right by
And your Grandma not even know.
I am grateful that somebody
Has told me it is so.

So if you're not two any more
Why then you must be turning three.
What a charming sweet young lady
You are growing to be.

If it is a rumor, Hannah
And it is not true after all,
When you do have a third birthday,
Please give Grandma a call.

Joyce, this brought a smile to my face!  Is she really three?  I remember when you spoke of her arrival and it seems like just yesterday!  But, then, our Myah just turned four in September... my how time DOES fly!  I just hope that time doesn't kick up too much dust in our faces.
All my love,
Shereen,

Hi Joyce,
This is adorable and so sweet. My granddauther, Elizabeth, was 3 on December 30th and my daughter's birthday is December 28th.  Hope you have a great celebration. Hope you are collecting grandma Joyce's poems for her to have some day.
Love, Barb

Thank you Shereen and Beasley.  Yes she is already three and it is hard to believe.  I have been writing poems for her since before she was born and am saving them for her.  Love, Joyce

Joyce:  A sweet poem to add to the growing pile of poems for Hannah!  I hope you have a birthday party for her soon and send us a picture!
Our daughter's birthday is Dec. 24th and we always have a party!  One on the 19th for Ron also.  They deserve their special day to be remembered, I think.  Maybe Hannah's mother will change her mind!

I loved this poem. Hannah is obviously a very special little girl to you and the lyrics show it quite well. Reminded me of my niece who's about eleven months old...
