Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2003-12-20 01:58 PM

Don't you remember a time, where winter air
was a harmonic intertwining of carolers and dry
sunsets mingled with your tongue like the color of ash-stained snow?

yes, yes, yes
life, holiday wonderment, was so simple then

In between the eve of Christmas, I walked barefoot on
white painted paradises of city sidewalks, looking
in toyshop windows,
just reminiscing,
feeling
the season

before it was drowned in commercialism.

no, it can't be
I don't believe you when you tell me
Christmas isn't real.

{society}
[humbles]
...me

For a little while, I sensed chills
of passing customer wind,
brushing over my blue lips and I tasted
cold -- I tasted raw wintry cold.

this isn't...real?
then why does the damp light of street lamps
overcome pine trees,
and their smells, their precious aromas
drown me.

why. why the lights, and why
the stars fashioned from white gold afflictions
atop branches?

Living in my mind, Christmas is a place,
where I exist {idealized}
and I am a child once more, tossing snowballs
mischievously
at the ornery neighbor's yard..

those damn kids,
will they ever learn!

...I remember how it was.

yes, yes, yes
and my lips and tongue are silver blue now
passersby wish warm coffee for me,
but nothing else.

oh I know, it was a very long time ago.

If I were to touch you, would you bleed a velvet river, running miracles through the sodden ground? --Moi

Though the text was somewhat distracting where the forum text editor misinterpreted all the apostrophes, I still found this to be a very astute and compelling read, IE.

btw, your signature is in itself, a work of art in writing, the absolute beauty of an Indigo mind.

(big hugggsssssss) I understand just how you feel, sweet friend, the whole trademark and corporate logo thing everywhere on Christmas is so very sad to see and it never originally came with negotiations or contracts, just unconditional kindness and love! (sad sigh) I wish for Christmas to be redeemed from further madness like this, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The CKhristmas of our memories is somehow the most real.  The feelings came through.  Joyce
