(AN: Again this is to a very special lady. She's inspired a lot of poetry and part of a fiction sereis I'm writing in the Passions in Prose section. The first installment of Songs of War is up.)

Just a Dream or Two

People wonder why I look so blue?
I say, "Just lost me a dream or two."
I dreamt once upon a time of true love.
And prayed for it from God above.

In reply I've only received pain and rejection.
Bitter resentment, loneliness, and dejection.
It's like I chase a mirage across the desert sand.
Each time it burns like a heated brand.

This recent one is most tragic.
At first love worked its magic.
I met her September of last year.
At first she was a friend, a fellow peer.

Four months later my feelings changed.
Not something I intentionally arranged.
I fell in love with her, she captured my heart.
The next September I'd be emotionally torn apart.

Over the summer I resolved to tell her.
Tell her slowly that she has my heart, twas a blur.
The memory of the new semester of our 2nd year.
Of school, which began for angst without peer.

It was a rainy night when I lost a dream or two.
My world felt like it had ended, true.
Studying together, and near the session's end.
She asked me had I met her boyfriend.

I said no, excused myself politely and walked back.
The sky was stormy and the night black.
Matching my mood as I walked to my room.
With the overhanging and overcast gloom.

My dreams of love and romance gone instantly.
The rain poured and pelted me.
I didn't care as I walked in the stormy night.
After a month, no more sympathy for my plight.

Sorry, I recover from this things slow.
This hurts me far more than a physical blow.
I want her to be happy, beloved, and special.
Even if through my suffering it must be bought.

I martyr my happiness for hers, I'd do it again.
For to me, she is worth all my angst and pain.

(big hugggsssssss) If the code of chivalry still endures today, you wear that badge upon your heart, sweet friend, you are the most unselfish lover who only wishes happiness to all and I know as you keep giving ever so much, love will return to you all the joy and comfort tenfold! (sigh) This made me cry knowing your gentle and giving heart, sweet friend, know my thoughts are with you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Carl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Love is out there...seek, and you will find.
Melancholy feel, but yet hopeful. Sending a hug.
Love,
Terri~

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender...Dido

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved!
Believe it or not time has a way of healing!
