Presence

The night is cold and clear.
The moon is wary. Seems to peer
Behind a veil of mist, a-glow,
With light reflected from the snow.
A mystery invades
The shadowed, forest glades.
I feel a presence in the dark.
An emanation from the bark
On each snow-shrouded, silent tree
And frosted bush I see!

Cool rhyming and images in this one. I love the feel of looking out a window at a snowy scene.

Sparticus:  Thanks for reading and commenting!  I have a very snowy scene to look out at.  About a foot of snow and more coming!  Looks like a Christmas card!

It's been a long time since I have seen a snowy Thanksgiving, but we have our rain.  Loved your poem.  Joyce

Joyce;  I would gladly shift a good half of what we have, over to your place!  We are over a foot and counting! Beautiful to look at, but hazardous to travelers.

Oh, thank you, Trillium...

I'll take some of that snow you are shoveling to other places. Down here in Orlando, we're just hoping that the air conditioning doesn't break down for the Thanksgiving weekend! It sure is nice to be able to at least vicariously have "normal" weather. (A friend just moved and now has a fireplace...she said that they've made a deal that when the temp drops below 65, they can use it!  Now...that's just not right!)

jc:  Thanks for responding!  We have about 14 or 15 inches of snow tonight.  Had to drive through it to town today........only about 15 miles.....but it took a long time to get there, the roads were so bad.

We won't see 65 degrees around here until next May or June and we sure won't be building fires in the fireplace!  We had such a mild winter last year, I guess nature is making up for it now!

have a great Thanksgiving!

As always I enjoy your poetry.
I have no frost on my trees... florida. Needless to say, I enjoy cool weather since I get very little.

(smiles) Oh Betty, I just love the gorgeous serenity of your poetry, sweet friend, it is like you're painting Bob Ross paintings of all natural surroundings and your poetry casts light and makes them all glossy and glittery! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
