faint etching on the heart

heart has been hurt so much
only a faint etching of love remains
heart wanting so much to be touched
heart cries out as it watches love fade

a faint etching that could be revived
if only one was to try
a caring love once was there
now only a faint etching does this heart bare

such a faint etching of love that is left
slowly being erased by words said in anger
will one let this love fade into nothingness
til not even a faint etching of love remains

slowly the faint etching disappears
with no hint left of a love that cares
that once was so vibrant and loving
now is only a memory fading away

Love can hurt sometimes. God knows, I'm the living expert on it. But you present it so well in this work. Hang in there, you'll be fine.
