Sea of Darkness

I once felt like the dolphin of sapphire sea.
Just knowing you, a great pleasure to me.
I once bounded through the open and free wave.
I felt truly bold and brave.

Now I'm the dolphin of the concrete pen.
Who feels only the longing for the open sea.
Love yet again is denied to me.
When shall he swim free again.

I saw you two walking together tonight.
Everything between you seemed more than alright.
I made small talk with you for a little while.
And then exited before I cramped your style.

I knew that I had loved and lost.
I hope our friendship isn't the cost.
It's the only thing givng me glimmers of happiness.
As I steer through the sea of darkness.

I feel as the dolphin of the concrete pool.
Who will never again see fish freely school.
He swims the confines of the concrete pen.
As he struggles to remember happier days when.

He could swim freely, any place he could choose.
Where sardine and mullet live were his fare.
Where he could breathe the free air.
But however, his freedom he did lose.

Like me, I felt like a bird on the wing.
Who could handle all and everything.
Just your friendship, I'll always treasure.
Through all times, pain and pleasure.

However now I'm a lost and broken shell.
When I got back to my room I descended to hell.
What could you possibly have seen in me.
Just a guy who's happy and friendly free.

Again, I'm the dolphin of that concrete pen.
Who swims its full confining length.
And something inside it dies when.
The sea beckons, I pray for strength.

The dolphin swims his seas of darkness.
Small dead fish, reminders of times of happiness.
He swims only in the artificial tide.
The free waves he shall never again ride.

So to am I. A lost and forsaken soul.
I no longer feel so well and whole.
Every smile and gesture to me, a litte happiness.
As I chart my course through a sea of darkness.

I know you love him, go follow your heart.
I give you my blessing, though I'm torn apart.
I'll find the strength somehow to go on.
Though my soul feels torn and overdrawn.

I'm like the dolphin of the false sea.
Who, even lonely, is friendly, like I.
Then from behind the confines whispers the sea.
And something inside will slowly die.

The dolphin didn't deserve this ghastly fate.
But it's his to bear ay any rate.
A lost soul and a child of the sea.
Kindred this poor soul, him and me.

We both lost something near and dear to we.
I have lost love and he has lost his open sea.
I know you are happy with him, I know on the spot.
I only ask you one thing, forget me not.

I know just what you mean. It would all be so much easier if you knew they won't forget you. That's a very hard part to deal with.
Love to you from a kindred soul that knows of the things you speak. Love will come to you, and it will come to me, too. I do believe love finds it's way to us all at some time, or another. Keep the faith, and if it helps just know you aren't alone in that out here in this big wide world. We just have to be open to it so it can show itself, and we are ready. Good luck to you! (big hugggssssssss) I know this feeling ever so much of thinking it's an open sea and you are just in an aquarium! (sad sigh) Well look again and soon you'll notice it was only in your head and soon you will be swimming barrier reefs and coral kingdoms with your mermaid! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I shine light upon your waters with angel hugs, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Carl, thank you for sharing!
