Across September's Sky

The golden leaves are glowing
Against a dome of blue.
The air is filled with sighings,
From breezes passing through.
Kingfishers call and flickers
And wild geese flying by,
Add haunting call while winging
Across September's sky.

We sit until the evening chill
Comes slowly creeping in,
To blow its cooling, autumn breath
Upon our sun-tanned skin.
We watch the clouds of sunset turn
From orange to deepest red,
Then rise and hurry homeward while
September goes to bed!

Oh nice Betty.  It describes September beautifully.  We are having a fantastic September.  Still warm as July until the evening chill comes.  Love, Joyce

September is such a beautiful month. Thanks for helping me realize that. It was when I met "my Lili Marlene" for the first time ever when we sat together in English class. Anyhoo this poem served to remind me that even though she doesn't share my feelings life is still a beautiful thing. Thank you kindly.

Hello Betty Lou

Your words had such a serene feeling to them which was so very much enjoyed.  Your words took me there.

Take care......Sue

paraboxer:  You're right about life being a beautiful thing.  No matter what down times we have, that is still true.

Betty Lou, this was just so beautiful!

I just love the way you write! Really I do!

I have been wanting to write some poetry about
the beautiful Autumn season, but just too many other
things have come up instead...

Oh well, I still have some time left... lol

Again, your poetry, is right up my alley!

So Nicely Done!

Richy

Richy:  Thanks for your nice comments. Living where you do, I'm sure you have lots of time yet, to write about the fall. Our season is much shorter!
