West Wind, East Wind

When western winds smell of the sea
And bring the sound of surf to me,
Then I must rise and quickly go
To watch the breakers, row on row.
Ten thousand miles they may have run
To reach this beach in morning sun.
I watch awhile, the marching lines.
The way each blue swell gleams and shines.
The frothing crest that curls to break
With trails of bubbles in each wake
And where the rugged sea-stacks rise,
Their impact throws spray at the skies!

The eastern wind brings scent of trees.
Of fir and spruce, borne on the breeze,
That conjures up a memory
Of forests stretching endlessly,
Before the axe and saw began
To claim their length and strength, for man.
Now either wind can stir my soul
And as I watch years take their toll,
I realize each precious day
Of wind that carries songs my way,
Must be enjoyed.Held close to heart,
For all the treasures they impart!

Betty Lou, just like Mother Nature herself, the elements of earth’s splendors yearn to converge at your feet...

Each one, all the more, vying for your undying appreciation...

“I realize each precious day
Of wind that carries songs my way,
Must be enjoyed.Held close to heart,
For all the treasures they impart!”

What a wonderful appreciation of our planet’s wonders!

Hello Betty Lou

There is nothing quite like the smell of the sea and your words were a treat for the senses.

Take care......Sue
