Hi all...another silly one for ya. Regatta day is a holiday here, at the beginning of August. I wrote this about the goings on at our place the night before Regatta Day...and yes it really was that cold, and in the 1st week of august too...ain't you glad you don't live here eh?

Regatta Day's Eve

Sippin' whiskey, taken neat and it burns like hell
Mickey's lovin her fiddle, brings a tear to the eye
Lainey's dancin, dress sliding from her shoulder
Shout out the song boys, let's shake the sky
Don't want for a thing
Conn cursing a broken E string
Jimmy comes roarin through the door
bringin another 2-4
Jack Daniels and the sunset do beguile
friends and lovers here to stay a while
Life was made for times just like these
laughter floating on the breeze

Summer nights things heatin up slowly
Charlie's feelin ill, and Helen's gettin wild
Mary's makin out with Jenn and some other girl
Emmie's stealin rum, gotta talk to that child
Angie's showing off her tattoo
And Maggs is doing lines in the loo
Carmen's got a story, and then just one more
got 'em laughin', rollin' on the floor
Jack Daniels and the sunset do beguile
come on in and join us for a while
Aye come on in, but close the door if you please
too friggin cold, its only 9 degrees
