(AN: The title refers to an old German Army marching song of the German Army in World War I Africa. I'm not a Nazi by any stretch of the imagination. Askari tribesman were those Africans who fought by side with the Germans in the campaign and refer to friends, like you, and my friends in the real world who've helped me through this. This ties in with my other works, but has a happier tone.) Heia Safari Random acts of kindness, all I can do. To pull myself out of feeling blue. Because of my unrequited love for you. Whether we stay friends or not, it's up to you. Praised be the loyal Askari. Heia! Heia Safari! My feelings for you, My Lili Marlene. Are unknown to you, I'd hate to cause you pain. I conduct a fluidic and gallant campaign. Soldiering on in spite of wind and rain. Praised be the loyal Askari. Heia! Heia Safari! I fight not with aggression but with good deed. To show my good side and that I'm a rare breed. Of the gentleman through and through. Leaving the choice entirely to you. Praised be the loyal Askari. Heia! Heia Safari! And like Deutsche Schutztruppe, against odds great. I keep going and leave all to fate. The only force of Germany not to surrender. I'll do the same, though my heart's in a blender. Praised be the loyal Askari. Heia! Heia Safari! Should this all come to naught. And my true feelings are ensnared and caught. I'll admit them honestly and omit not a word. I'll make sure my full confession by you is heard. Praise again to the loyal Askari. Heia! Heia Safari! Like Rommel's Afrika Korps in 1943. Against the mighty British 8th Army. Their last communique to Germany read. Speaking the truth, that white they were bled. "Secret documents destroyed, ammunition expended." Their courage, dedication, and tenacity commended. Their last words were, "Heia Safari!" |
