Transitional Cattle

Everyday
Every morning
In the evening
Witnessing my riders
Of a lovable damn BUS
I look upon them - lightly
Searching - for story
Proud fathers - hungry
Yet happy to give their last
Little ones beside them
Faces still unaware
See now?
Febble minded elders
Happy to remember anything
Good or Bad
Now the perfect waste -
Juvenile know-it-alls
Rebels without a clue
And last - Myself
Recorder of this motley crew
Judge of all who wander in
Always knowing
I am a card carrying member!

I have only my genius to declare!

The riders are all unaware
They're on their way to market;
With jaded eye appraising them
As they board the bus and park it.
With sweeping glance he surveys them
Allowing not one word
In their defense, dismissing each
As but one of a herd.
