PEACE

How wonderful it is here, by this creek
I lay on a quilt spread beneath a tree,
Listening to the water as it flows
Up, around and over the sleeping rocks.

A place to clear a cluttered mind
To seek solace in the stillness,
To discard thoughts that destruct
My thinking and pamper my pain.

I smile at the memories
Of you, me and this heavenly place,
Crackers, Cheddar... and a bottle of wine,
Chilled in the waters of this creek.

Peaceful Sunday afternoon memories
That I could never discard,
They are such treasured recollections
I keep tucked away... in my heart.

I love it out here,
I feel spiritually whole,
I can forgive you everything,
And maybe, even understand why you left.

Do I love you any the less? - No!
Do I hate you? -No!
I don’t believe in that thin line
That supposedly separates love and hate.

I have found a certain power,
In the knowledge I have something
That you can’t give to her, she can’t have,
That is the time you spent...  loving me.

Such peace I have found here,
I smile to myself totally contented
Listening to the water as it flows,
Up, around and over the sleeping rocks.

SPIRIT~
This is certainly a lovely piece~

And this ...

'I have found a certain power,
In the knowledge I have something
That you can’t give to her, she can’t have,
That is the time you spent...  loving me.'

...so very, very touching~
Good to see you back with us~

SPIRIT:  A very moving poem and I do understand how the power of nature can be healing.  I too, spend time beside a creek and let the waters carrry away the things
that trouble me! Nice to see you posting again.
