* * *
Romantic died in her when she saw his ex-girlfriend doing fellatio for him.
Believer died in her when she saw Christians killing each other.
Rebel died in her when she saw that nobody wanted changes.
Warrior died in her when she saw that there was no one to fight.
Friend died in her when she heard her trusted ones talking behind her back.

There she went, lost and lonely, completely disappointed in the world.
There she went with the sarcastic smile on her lips and deep cracks in her heart.
There she went watching life like an outsider, refusing to take part in its ridiculousness.
There she went with no illusions about men, saints, leaders, and loud talking fools.
There she went with no direction and with no aim, accepting her own stupidity.

He was a heavy-built good-looking man with dark dangerous eyes and amazing smile.
He was a crazy stranger with deep low voice, big arms, great torso, and tender heart.
He was a player who wasn't afraid to bet his life and always won.
He was a lover who had many women, and a friend who never betrayed his pals.

There they met on the crosswalk, and looked each other in the eye.
She was weak and mixed up; he was strong and very sure of himself.
She liked him right away, and he liked her too.
They danced with each other, two beautiful people in the night.

The man tried to see her heart but she was hiding it very well.
The man tried to get closer but she didn't open her secrets.
The man said he loved her but she didn't believe him.
The man waited for her but she never spoke with him again.

She couldn't trust him because so many lied to her before.
She couldn't walk with him because she was afraid he would disappear.
She couldn't talk to him because others had laughed at her words.
She couldn't smile because her wounds were too deep.

He was wondering why she was so cold when he was friendly.
He couldn't understand why she was always so quiet when he talked.
He was surprised by her aggression and distrust.
He waited, and asked, but nothing changed.

So they parted and went in different directions.
Both of them cried desperately about died love.
His hot south blood was calling him back to his people.
Her forgotten dreams returned to torture her once more.
They never met again but they always remembered each other.
Two people who were meant to be together but didn't share even a kiss.

The woman said, "I would die if he loved me and then went away."
The man said, "I love her but she doesn't want me."
The woman said, "One day I'll be all right."
The man said, "I will be able to forget her some day."

Time passed, but they still see each other in dreams.
He fools around a lot as he always did, and lives fast.
She found out how to deal with the cruel world; she is very strong now.
They both have happy and sad moments, and get older every day.

As for now, if you see them, you will recognize them easily by their eyes.
Their eyes are always sad - even when these two fools laugh.
They will probably meet again - in another world, in another life,
And be smart enough not to lose each other.

Who knows? Anyway, that will be another story.

...somos los locos para siempre
para siempre te amo
   mi vida...

apparantly it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.... but I know what you mean, you don't have to risk having your heart broken again if you avoid the situation. These words you have written today have touched a part of my romantic soul- thanks. (*) (*) (*) (*) (*)
