Keeper of the Past

I still plant new flowers every spring
And wait for colored promises they bring.
I search to find the first star of the night
And make a wish upon it's twinkling light.
Although I know that nothing stays the same,
Still, I won't let the wind forget your name.
I'll keep alive the lovely songs we sang,
Remembering the way our voices rang
And I will act, in days still left to me,
As keeper of the way things used to be!

This was so full of heart. I don't know anything about critiquing I just know what I feel when I read. My feeling was this is so sweet, and reflective, and loving. I loved reading!!!!!

Shara Rose;  Your comments were exactly what I needed to hear!  Saying what's in your heart is the best critique of all! Thank you.

haunting and lovely dear friend. your words flow without effort and are beautiful to behold.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Denise:  I'm so glad this touched you. I wrote it after losing a very dear, younger sister and it's nice to know some of what I felt, came through to others. Thanks.

This one line spoke volumes and was so sweetly written.  A very beautiful piece.

Betty,

This poem is so beautiful it made me cry. It reminded me of my friend Sarah and I growing up. Unfortunately she is gone now, but her spirit will remain with me always.
