lawn sprinkler radiates rainbows
in the hot afternoon sun
children dash through it's shower
squeeling and giggling
child bends over
hands on knees
face full in the spray
hah! hah! hah!
laughter bubbles upward
caught in the cascading sounds
of water and children
happy in discovery
running through
jumping over
falling into
breathing in
soaked til almost drowning
ahhh, sweet youth
joy from the moment
lesson to be learned
from laughing children
give me this minute
this happiness
here
right now

thanks all... tried to capture this snapshot that hit me one day when driving home - and a front lawn was filled with kids playing.  frozen the image of a 4 yr old with his face stuck right in the the sprinkler squeeling but refusing to move.  kids ... they're an endless resource of ideas.  gotta love em.

You've got to love the childish enjoyment from the "little" things in life

This is perfect and a great read on such a hot morning too.

Gosh, this is so great! It reminded me of when I was little and ran through the sprinkler. Especially the part where the kid holds his head right over it. I used to do that to get a drink and my mother always told me not to drink the sprinkler water (or from straight out of the hose). I always did anyway though.

What a happy sight this projects.  Brought back memories of my own children doing this very thing.

A very delightful and fun read. Reminded me of when my sister and I were children running through the sprinkler.
