Push And Shove

I'm resting in my moment's lair
knowing soon the end will come
because I am willing the change
of soft to hard and strong,
the need within me, pressing me
to let go.

It's Push and Shove, my newest friends,
who extend their fingers reaching out,
the crowd of others making way,
surprised that I believe in more,
a bit selfishly, but the thrust from within
finally surrendering to digestion.

They started off nudging me,
prodding me with thoughts,
until I was bruised each day
with tomorrow's knowledge.

I have plunged into the depths of nowhere
only to have them pull me up,
dust me off and then boost my ego
into knowing what is for the best.

They warn me I may crash and burn
once in a while, but they will always be there
to lift me when down, to quell the negative
and to always leave their gentle touch
of reminders, that a future awaits
my own determination.

M

A struggling to be born baby or a poem?  How much alike they are.  Your poem made me ponder.  Joyce

Know the feeling well, I went through something like this a little over 3 years ago. I do not regret one day. A good thoughtful write.

nahhh, no baby, just me making a dtermination to have a new life as  hard as it will be.
Thanks Joyce

Dave, you  can't regret a thing because what we choose to do is and was a part of our make up and regret is a word I rarely use.

You did the right thing and the loving one.
Hugs to you

Michelle, thank you.
I have just been having sort of the recognition (finally)of how I want my life to be and making the moves to make it that way.
I've already wasted too many months and years
believing in the impossible.

hugs
