Summertime

I have four friends who visit me
The same time every year.
Their visits never overlap;
Mrs. Summer's time is here.

Lovely Summer please do come in,
You've always been my friend.
I promise I'll be so happy
Your comfort to attend.

You are a very pleasant guest
And our friendship is strong.
I know if I have chores to do
You'll be happy to tag along.

If I don't have time to hostess
Just a picnic now and then,
You'll pretend that it's a grand feast
And will help me all you can.

My other guests are more moody
Don't try so hard to please.
Sometimes they like to worry me,
Sometime they like to tease.

You are the guest I love the best;
The one who makes me smile,
Please, please come in and promise me,
You'll stay a long,long while.
