I lie here alone
misery my only company,
years of trust
gone in a day,
memories filed
under forgotten.

No letters,
or calls,
no warning.

I lie here alone,
sadnessmy only solace.
I seek no other.

Puts arm over shoulder and says..anytime you need a hand to hold, or just to sit with someone, I am here. I know I don't know you, but I know you are a fellow human being, and that's all I need to know. Praying for you!
Hugs.

Love,
Terri~

No problem Maggie. I am just glad it's not something that's happening in your life. And that happens sometimes...some emotions are darker...that's part of being human.

maggie
I love the emptiness this conveys with your closing line "I seek no other." I would say its almost happily empty.
a sad but intriguing write!
Connie.

Yes. Love hurts, Lord knows I know that feeling all too well. Hang in there and you'll find someone (I've gotta keep that in mind myself)

its odd how we write poetry sometims from our own experience and sometimes from imaginings but no matter this is still a very touching and deeply sad poem.

thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you Paraboxer and June. I often think that it is odd that most of my poetry is sad but I am very happy, Maggie

"I am often happy"...
sometimes as relationships grow
here in Passions
we forget that our writers
just want to try to express a side
they seldom ever visit in real life...

This is good, Maggie...

write on!
