A Perfect Place

Deep in the garden, I can see
A bench, beneath a shady tree,
Where roses grow and iris too.
A peaceful place, for me and you
To spend some time and contemplate
What gems of nature, there await.

The small birds in the bushes, call
And ivy twines along the wall.
The fountain splashes merrily.
A squirrel darts from tree to tree.
Far overhead, are clouds that rise,
To sail like ships, across the skies.

The langour of the afternoon
Is complimented by the tune
A spritely breeze is whispering
And harmony rules everything.
A haven, where occasionally,
We retreat from reality!

junemac:  Thanks for commenting.  I have some nice places to go and sit beside the creek, but I did embroider them a bit, for this poem!
