Shape-Changers

The sky is filled with clouds today.
Shape-changers, in a vast array.
Like Indian magic men of yore,
Who knew the secrets of their lore,
These clouds can change, at will, to be
Fantastic creatures, I can see.
Or buildings, ships and dancing clowns
And ladies in their bouffant gowns!

So many different types are there,
All drifting slowly through the air,
In endless patterns.Some that bring
A somber shade, to everything
And some that sprinkle misty rain,
But then the sun comes out again.
I watch in fascination, till,
The darkness crowds my window sill.

When I retreat, I'm still aware
Of all that mass of cloud out there.
Some part of me, would like to fly
And join their march, across the sky!

Dearest Betty,

this poem is really reminisce of my childhood days, when i'll lie on the living room floor, staring out the balcony dreamily at the sky... making stories with the clouds! Its precious! really!!

Marge:  I do know how close to nature you are and of course a cloud watcher!  The clouds this year, in our area, have been just spectacular.  I wish I had your photo abilities!
